How to arrange the interior of the electric control cabinet
Most electric control cabinets should have main and sub circuit power switches installed on the top layer (currently, most of them are air circuit breakers of various models). It is mainly convenient for operators to stop and transmit power, especially for power failure and listing operations; The second is in line with the deep-rooted understanding of our electricians - that power is introduced from above. The last point relates to details such as the laying and shaping of wires inside the electric control cabinet. However, in practice, we should also note the spacing between the power switches arranged and installed on the upper layer and the various instruments, displays, and other devices that need to be installed on the front panel of the electric control cabinet after they are turned off.
After arranging the top layer of the electric control cabinet, the large area immediately following it is usually the most core part of the electric control cabinet. You can freely determine the number of electrical equipment installation layers and the distance between layers in this area according to the actual task requirements. Generally, there are five details that you should pay attention to:
① Generally, electronic industrial control devices (such as PLCs, frequency converters, switching power supplies, electronic circuits with various functions, etc.) are installed on the top of the electric control cabinet to avoid environmental temperature, humidity, dust, and other factors.
② If the electronic control system includes both a PLC and a frequency converter/servo controller, the PLC should be installed in layers with the two devices, and the installation position of the PLC should be located above the two devices.
③ When using PLC to drive electromagnetic contactors and relays, the control device and the controlled device should also be installed and placed in layers, and the controlled device should be located below the PLC. This has the advantage of facilitating subsequent wiring construction, as well as maintenance and replacement.
④ For devices with certain electromagnetic interference such as frequency converters and servo controllers in the electric control cabinet, they should be installed as close as possible to the left and right sides of the electric control cabinet. The purpose of this is to facilitate grounding of such devices, shorten the length of the grounding wire, and minimize the harm of electromagnetic interference to other equipment.
⑤ If it is necessary to install electrical devices with high vibration in the electric control cabinet (such as electromagnetic large-capacity contactors, vacuum AC contactors, etc.), these devices should be installed as far as possible below the electric control cabinet on the left and right sides, in order to reduce the mechanical vibration impact on other equipment.
Considering the need for wiring and routing in actual use, the lowest layer of the electric control cabinet is most often designed as a wiring terminal strip. When designing and laying wiring terminal blocks, we should try to install power lines such as power lines and load lines in layers with auxiliary control signal lines, and ensure that the installation position of the latter is higher than the former. The advantage of this approach is to avoid electromagnetic interference between the two functional conductors and to facilitate measurement during future maintenance.
